It keeps a group of cars together on a drive. Everyone gets the same route rather than three different ones, you can see where every car is on one map, and if someone falls behind you get directions that rejoin the group ahead rather than sending you backwards.

Everyone driving does, because each car's position comes from that person's phone. You can plan a trip and invite people without them having it, and they can open the web planner without installing anything, but a car only appears on the convoy map once that driver is in the app.

Yes, and the free tier is meant to be genuinely usable rather than a trailer. Convoy routing, the live map, CarPlay, Trip Replay, Atlas and Year in Drives are all free, with drives of up to four cars.

It is aimed at whoever organises things. Convoys up to eight cars instead of four, twenty groups instead of two, seven stops plus your destination instead of three, 500 friends instead of 20, a 200-route library instead of three, unlimited scheduled trips, and custom trip avatars.

Location sharing is per trip: it starts when that person starts the drive and stops when it ends. Anyone who has not set off yet has nothing to share. Ask them to open the trip and start driving.

So your car keeps showing on the convoy map when your phone is locked or you are in another app, which is most of a drive. It applies to an active trip only and it ends with the trip.

The drive keeps working. Navigation holds together through a weak patch, and anything you change while you are offline is queued and sent when you are back, rather than being lost or silently half-applied.

Propose a stop mid-drive and it reaches everyone at once, at somewhere the whole group can reach without turning around.

You say when you want to be there, and each person gets a departure time from their own front door. Eight houses, eight departure times, one arrival.

Yes, and it is built for it rather than squeezed onto it. The convoy, the nearest car's gap, turn cards, search, saved places and voice destination entry are all on the head unit.

Open the trip and tap Invite someone. That gives you your friends list and your contacts to pick from, and you can also add someone by username, or send an email invite if they are not on LetsDrive yet.

If you would rather not pick names one at a time, use the trip's Invite to Trip screen and tap Create a join code. From there, Share invite link sends a link that opens the trip directly, Save QR image gives you a code people can scan in person, and the code itself can just be read out loud: the other person taps Join a Trip and types it in.

Everyone you invite gets a notification and the trip appears in their list. A join code is not permanent, either. You can Regenerate it or Turn off the code whenever you like, which stops the old one working.

You can be signed in on more than one device, but only one of them can be driving a trip at a time. If you start a drive on a second device, it will tell you which device is already driving and let you take over deliberately. That is on purpose: two devices publishing one person's position makes a convoy show you twice.

A group is a set of people you drive with often, so you are not re-picking the same six names every weekend. Groups hold up to 25 people.

Yes. You can block someone, which cuts contact both ways, and you can mute a trip you do not want notifications from.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled there rather than in LetsDrive. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, then LetsDrive. Cancelling stops the renewal and Pro keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Open the LetsDrive Pro screen and tap Restore Purchases. If it still does not appear, email us and say which Apple ID you bought it on.

Yes. Settings has a Delete Drive History option that clears your past drives and leaves your account, friends and groups alone.

In LetsDrive open Settings and choose Delete Profile. We email you a six-digit code to confirm it is you. Deleting permanently removes your account, friends list, recent destinations and trip history from the server, and it cannot be undone.

The people on a trip you are actually driving, while that drive is happening. Not before it starts, not after it ends, and not people who are only on your friends list. The privacy policy has the detail.
